rear brakes locked up

rear brakes locked up
I was driving home from picking up my daughter today and my rear brakes started locking up! Did it for about 2 miles then just released at a stoplight thank goodness! No I don't have a compensator. I am thinking my E brake cable may be to blame. It needs replacing. I tried to tighten it up quite a while back and it never would engage so I just left it. I'll go out and back it off since it doesn't work anyway. I need to get that cable replaced. Any other thoughts?

Its probably your rear rubber hose that goes to the axle that is bad and collapsing inside itself not allow the fluid to return. Happened to me on my last Spider.

Looks like the rear hose is a wee bit longer than the others. I guess they won't interchange?

Yes the rear brake hose to axle is its own size. You should be able to order one from any Fast Undercar or local auto parts to get it quick for less than $15.00.

Do the cable and all 3 rear hoses at once. Better to get the job done once then keep going back time and time again. Also, you'll save on shipping costs that way.
