Classic Insurance for Fiat-advice needed

Post by Fiat88 »

My father and I are trying to insure the spider under him, Hagerty is giving us trouble because their saying that every license driver in the household has to have a regular use car, see I have the 98 VW golf, he has the 97 Infiniti I30, and my mother has a license but doesn't drive. She hasn't driven in like 10 years because she just doesn't like too. They said they'll get back to us but ...yeah so can anyone recommend another insurer?

How old are you? I couldn't find any other classic insurer for my Fiat for me because I'm under 21. Many companies won't even insure you if you're under 25. I think Hagerty is one of the only ones that does. We've had nothing but trouble from them either. We had the same situation as you, except a main driver for each person, and they wouldn't let us insure the Fiat for me.

Insurance companies have this rule because when therule makers where young they lost their girlfriends to young men with Italian convertibles.

Can't you call that 1-800 general. I think they insure anything. Don't know if they pay out but, they do make you legal.

my statefarm insurance has pretty good rates for the fiat. I have antique plates on it and I think that helps. They told me that it helps that it looks like a piece of junk (my words, not theirs). She told me that if I paint it to let them know cause that will increase the rate?
