Insurance Emergency!
Re: Insurance Emergency!
I sort of worked something out. I couldn't find any insurance companies to insure me though, and it's been kind of a pain. My father now hates Hagerty, because he tried doing something with them last year and we had issues too. Whenever you talk to them before you get insurance they're really nice and they said we could get insurance one way, and then when we actually go to apply for it they give us a real hard time and go back on what they told us we could do before. They said I have to wait a whole year before I try them again, so I will, but they'll probably find another reason to turn me down...
Re: Insurance Emergency!
Check out Grundy they are way better to deal with than Haggerty. I'm guessing the main issue is your age plain and simple. I have coverage on my spider and the wifes 450sl and no one under 25 can drive the cars. You might try to see if you can insure your drivers license. My nephew had to do this and he is covered for any car he drives. Not to sure what the cost is but it seemed alot cheaper than trying to insure the 8 vehicles he owns as single driver cars.
Re: Insurance Emergency!
wait why are you applying for insurance if you are 19? Everybody knows that young guys can't afford insurance, they system sucks us dry. You get the car in your dad's name and then you are listed as an occasional driver. Ethical? Maybe not, but every family I know does it and it was the difference between 2400 a year and 800 a year on my first car. As things turned out my dad did drive it more than me.....huh.

Hehehe that's what we ended up doing. That being said, my regular insurance on my other car is only 600/6 months, which I think is a pretty decent deal for my age.Zmatt wrote:wait why are you applying for insurance if you are 19?
