New Wind Deflector
Re: New Wind Deflector
Hi guys,
As we were following Ralph in his car. I wanted to make sure the deflector didn't bounce around. It was stable. Let me know exactly how many you want. I'm making them as I get the orders because they take me 5-6 hours to make. The price is $179.99 + shipping. And of course you have the right idea to buy more and save on the shipping. It seems I better get to work.
If you would like one, either Email me or leave me a PM here.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Brady - a couple of questions before I take the plunge...
1. what happens if the headrest is raised? I'm quite tall and have the headrest extended to it's highest position.
2. what happens if the seats are not in the same position back/forth or tilt. I'm 6'4 and my wife is 5' so we don't usually have the seats aligned.
Thanks,
Bruce

Re: New Wind Deflector
The seats would have to be within the same proximity or there will stress on the deflector. They don't have to be exactly the same but close. The only thing is the deflector will look crooked. There isn't that much play with a solid frame. I would think if one head rest is raised. The other should hold it down if it is in the down position. If they were both raised, It might move a little but should still be sturdy. I'm using the same diameter pipe I use on the seat belt guides. They just fit over the posts for the head rest with the exception the deflector ones are thicker (taller).
Re: New Wind Deflector
You could always use sections of tube on the seat with raised head rests.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Thanks - I'm going to pass. The seat adjustment difference will be too great an obstacle to get around. Plus, as my wife reminded me - the dog travels with us a lot and a wind deflector would get in her (the dog's) way.

Re: New Wind Deflector
I found the direct website for the chrome desing: (more pics)
http://shop.chromdesign.de/index.php?ca ... fiat-.html
I like the desing and the mounting hardware, but the price
I have miata seats so I need it to attach to the body rather than the seats I was also looking at one that mounts on the miata seats but dont like how it looks

Re: New Wind Deflector
Hi Brady,
I just mounted the Brady Windscreen and took it for a ride. What a difference! Like your riding in a different vehicle. No buffeting. My wife loves it. No issues with mounting it at all. snapped right in place and is nice and solid. Thanks for solving a problem that keeps popping up at our house. No wind problems on our rides now. We went out to dinner tonight and when we arrived it wasn't the usual wait to comb hair etc. and my wife is not high maintainance. Thanks again. I will send you some pics tomorrow, George

Re: New Wind Deflector
Well my wife is high maintenance! That's why I made the windscreen.
Just don't tell her I said this
If you knew her, you would know I'm just kidding.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Why not just fabricate brackets that mount to the top frame so that it can be dropped and or raised like the Euro one? That way the lateral position is always constant? I personally do not want anything that can dent or rub my new upholstery or hang off my seat. Looks really good though. Congrats on a good job.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Jim, I'll let you know how it works. Checked the post tracking number and the loot has entered the country. Told Janyce about it and she said.. GOOD.. so I'll see,but I have to make her appreciate the top down more than she does now.

Jim,
I could fabricate something up for you. You just have to explain what you really need. I can make it connect to the car just as IAP's does. Maybe with some quick connects. Got an idea, let me know.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Jim & Brady,
Isn't the biggest problem with IAP/Spiderpoint shield is the way the wind deflector mounts to the top frame which prevents the use of the top boot.

Yes, plus I believe you have to remove it to put the top up.

Re: New Wind Deflector
Got my new BradyDeflector today, looks great and really cuts down the wind buffeting. I installed it and took SWMBO for a ride, and we could easily converse at 55 mph, just a little swirling of hair. I was concerned it might wobble around, but it stays put. I don't have to remove it to put the top up. Still easy to drop the top, just have to help one of the folds over it. Here are some pictures:
