I am missing the light that goes in front of the rocker switch that controls the heater fan. After looking through my electrical diagnostic manual diagrams, though, I don't see it shown anywhere. Is this supposed to be a pilot light that shows fan on/off or an instrument light that shows you where the switch is?
In either case, how should it be wired in?
I cant seem to find them listed with the suppliers that i know of. Any advice on where to get one? I dont see it as an important part, but I dont like the hole in the console.

The heater indicator is lit with fiber optics. There's no light on the fan switch itself...only the small fan/def indicator that's just above the fan switch.

What is the source of light for the optical fibre?
Anyone know where to get such a light unit?

Re: How does heater fan light work?
It is a regular bulb located above the ignition switch right under the dash. The bulb illuminates one end of the 5 fiber optic wires. The other end of the wires are cliped into the heater controll betzel and one goes to the fan switch "window"
A common problem is the small clips that hold the fiber optic wires in the plastic housings. They get brittle, break, or get lost. I have several of the fiber optic wire setups if you need one, clips too. matt.scarton@gmail.com

If one goes to that heater light window, where do the other 4 go? Sorry if this is in the manual somewhere, I just couldnt find it.
The FIAT shop manual that I have really would benefit from a good index.

You only have three fiber optic lights going to your heater control bezel (at least in my car). This is the chrome piece with the heat and defrost levers. The lower left corner (closest to the dash) requires a fiber optic light, and the lower right corner (closest to the dash) is blacked out and has no light receptacle. You couldn't put one there even if you wanted to. The upper left and right corner (closest to the back seat) require two fiber optic lights in each corner. These are all held in place by a plastic clip that manoa matt mentioned. The fourth one attaches to the DEF/FAN icon window. On one end, there should be a small hole were it plugs in and then held by a plastic clip as well.Tango wrote:If one goes to that heater light window, where do the other 4 go? Hope that helps.

Thanks, that helps me to know what ought to be there. My heater bezel is completely dark. I'll have to look into it.
Edit: Not true. I went into the darkened garage just now and checked. There are pinpricks of light in 3 corners. I need to see if they are obscured with dirt or something.
