Nice looking cars. I remember my parents having a '69 Lincoln convertible. Love that car!
I also had an 80 Z28 w/t-tops about ten years ago. It was a beautiful car, but didn't have the power you'd expect from a 350 with air induction.

The 80 Z28s must of had a ton of Smog on them by that time ?
I don't think any American Car had power around 1980 !

Hey Fire

What did you have in it 350, 396, 454 ? it's not hard to make a
car like that really fast !
I used to own a 1969 Cougar XR7 with a 351 in it Performance
street cam some porting and larger carb it could lay rubber
for a block if i did a power stand take off lol .
On wet pavement i could burn rubber well into 2nd gear it was 1 of
the fastest cars i ever owned .

My spider can spin the tires on dry pavement in 3rd gear. Chris claims to have spun them in 4th gear, He dosent drive my car any more.

What does your car run in the 1/4 mile ?

i had a 1976 olds starfire gt 350 it came with a v6 231 4 speed and 278 rear gears. removed the v6 and added a 400 hp 350 from a corvette and had a very fast car the 350 small block had the forged flat tops with pink rods and forged crank 4 bolt mains and nickel block the heads were the 461 head castings (big 202 intakes 194 exhaust) with big ports on the dyno we were making right at 395 hp with dual carter afb 400s on a dual plane intake that right 2 four barrel carbs and the hookers headers. bad car got clocked going @ 156 on two lane blacktop in south ga and was just turning about 4000 rpm could do 14's in the quarter this was the most wicked car i ever had 1st gear could do 60 mph second would bury the speedo over 90 mph

Hey Spiderbuddy

Were you driving the car at 156 ? thats really fast was wondering
what that felt like hehe

The 202 intakes are the heads all the racers want from my
understanding my friend has those on an Chevy thats running
in the 11s 1/4 mile with a Nova 2 .
I think it was Dyno'd over 500 HP but this is a race car nothing
at all for the street Race Gas ect ect .

yes i was driving it at 156 mph and believe me that was not very smart of me, but the car was set up by the the way hotrod mag set there car up. i coppied and article they published back in the 80's when they built a chevy monza they did all the work i just used there info to build mine. and yes it would go faster than that (i had help georgia state patrol, and a lot of trouble) but the car was worked thru from front to back.
