Mark's Cam Upgrade....Awesome!!!

Post by TVST*R »

SoCal Mark installed his perf. cams a few weeks back. All I can say is...WoW!!!...Great Power, Great pull from 2500 to about 4600...really gives the spider that extra edge where we need it and drive it. I have to say, I was tempted to buy a bigger cam, but this one really builds good power down low where we need it. Great investment!...thanks Mark.

cam specs are;
285 duration, 210 duration at .050 lift
.385 lift, opening/closing at 34/72
Cams are $250 a pair exchange.
They have a slightly lumpy idle, will pass a smog check in Calif and make good power from 2500 to 6000 rpm. Great street cams for stock or slighly modded engines.

Well, I bit the bullet on a pair of Mark's cams too and had him install them during a recent timing belt change. I also had Mark install my 34adf and 1800 manifold on my '79 and I'm thrilled with the result. The car finally (finally!!) drives like I think it should, with ample power and a much more free-revving nature. I was limping along on the freeway at 65 mph all the way to Mark's shop and was doing 80+ in the fast lane the whole way home with the feeling that there was more to go. Mid-range pickup was greatly improved with no noticeable loss to the bottom end.

Chalk me up as another happy customer

Ordered a set last week ... Excited to see how they work. Doing a lot of changes at once though, so it'll be tough to tell the benefits of each individual upgrade (electronic ignition, 32/36 carb, cams, changing leaky gaskets and adding a free flowing air intake). This thing should rock ... can't wait. ;-)
