As I drove my wife's Fiat in to work today, i took a few left turns at reasonably high speed for the fun of it. The speed was enough to feel the roll of the car body. In a few of the turns, the dashboard emergency BRAKE light turned on. Could the flexing suspension geometry cause a cable to be pinched or pulled and engage the brake slightly, or is an electrical issue (bah, just a light to ignore) more likely?
I did not take any right turns at reasonably high speeds. The front driver tire has the beginnings of sidewall cracking, so I hesitate to abuse it. We'll be getting new tires within the next few days, though.

Have you checked your brake fluid level in the reservoir?

Had the same last year - the lines between the reservoir and the brake master cylinder had some cracks - it could be a good idea to check them while refilling the reservoir.

That happens to me every time and the reservoir is filled up to max!??

Same deal, first thing I checked, no problems, and the light still appears. Sometimes it appears on even calm turns.Tobi wrote:That happens to me every time and the reservoir is filled up to max!??

In the turn are you contacting the e brake lever in anyway to knock it off center and set the light?
Re: take a turn fast, 'BRAKE' light turns on
I had checked the reservoir a day or two ago, and it looked pretty well filled. Not to the brim, but plenty of fluid.
The turns weren't hard enough to shift myself into bumping the e-brake, either.
