Mysterious Piece!

Post by azygoustoyou »

I was able to do some more media blasting and came across this piece. Apparently it needs some parts. I remember it came off the underside in the rear. I can't remember the side though. Can these rubber pieces be purchased new. As you can see. I need them. Thanks

That looks like the base for the fuel filter...

Those rubber mounts are sold separately. Let me see if I can find the part number, I used one from my Porsche parts bin, so I know you can get them from Pelican Parts, just need the corresponding part number... let me see if I can find it.

If you are allowed to prowl your local auto wreckers, you'll find very similar (including the thread) rubber isolators in VW cars, and probably others. I took a pair off the firewall of a Jetta I think it was. Can't remember what it held to the firewall. Worked perfectly. Cost me 50 cents.

Anything you can fit in your pocket at the junkyard is free.

When I have attempted to pay for small, insignificant items, the mexican laides who work there seemed annoyed that I had interrupted their celebrity gossip hour and told me to just take it.
