spider front bumper delete

Post by NebraskaSpider »

Here are some pics of my bumper delete. I just took off the front bumper from the pistons and rotated them 45 degrees. I then put on some plastic hose I bought on the cheap. I got the idea from spiderjim (who has a beautiful car) and I hope he doesnt mind I used his idea. :D
I had some scrap pieces of rubber mat that I cut up and glued on. I like this because I can go back and forth between having a bumper or not. I am still undecided on how I will like this look as I have yet to have the chance to drive it around and look at it from a distance but so far I dig it.
Sorry for the bad pics, all I have is a cell phone camera.

Sorry, Nebraska, but it looks like you're getting ready to be a "push" vehicle at a track. I think it would look better without the pistons.

Fair. Well, at least it's not permanent. I can always throw the tubes back on.

That is a creative Idea. The shock covering is a neat idea. I really want to drop my bumpers but really struggle to find the right look. There are so many different Ideas. Thanks for sharing.

You didn't run over the robot from "Lost in Space", did you? Looks like he's in your engine bay.

Some have kept the bumpers but have drained the oil out of the tubes, pushed the bumpers closer to the body and bolted in position. It gave the car a cleaner look I thought but still offered some protection in case of a slight shopping lot bump. I have a spare hood and trunk in case that happens with mine and the rubber bumper blocks.

Haha, I guess those bumpers need to go back on for now. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Out with the old (robot bumpers, bad pics) and in with the new (front spoiler). Spoiler courtesy of So Cal Mark. Shot it with a few coats of flat black.

oh ya...and screw having a front license plate. Ruins the whole look of the front end. Darn Nebraska and their laws.

Put the plate behind the bottom grill. You could still see it.
