Let's go racing!

I picked up the former EP 124 race car that was listed in the For Sale section last week. Just what I need is another project  , and I haven't told my wife yet. It'll be a secret for awhile.

Welcome to the club Mark!! I just got home from a full weekend of racing, three starts and three finishes. Good to here that someone else is keeping fiat racing alive. EP car? Do you have any other info to share about the car, 2L or 1.6 etc.?

the seller didn't know much about the car and there is a box of paperwork to read through. I believe it's got an 1800 in it. Set up with dual webers and alquati cams, MSD ignition.

Wow, that's awesome, Mark! Pretty soon you'll have to add another section on the forum for racing.
Looks like a nice car, btw.

Congrats Mark! Where does the line form for rides?

When you are ready to bring that trailer up to Ventura, I have quite a few spare racing body parts you can take back with you, including a complete shell from a '76.

Congrats on the purchase Mark! :P That looks like it would be so much fun. I would love to get into racing one of those. I have the need for speed on the track. I used to race crotch rockets dragging the knees around corners. Until I hit the wall at 80 mph feet first. At least this looks a bit safer. Good luck with her. Let us know how she handles and looking forward to pic's.

Hey Mark:

I just took the roll bar out of my 76. Preping for a complete repaint. I find I like the lines of the body w/o the roll bar. You are welcome to it if you plan on spending any time inverted. Just come and pick it up or pay the shipping. North Idaho is a nice scenic road trip from your place.

sorry, somewhat off topic, but a 124 anyway, for many years i raced , owned , built, fiat 124 coupe circle track race cars.
52 NASCAR, thats right nascar wins, weekly racing series, 2 track championships. dyno sheets say 215 rwhp on the modified car, stock made 120 rwhp, with only minor oem parts swaps.
