Last night I went and pulled a couple parts from someone that was parting out a 1980 Fiat Spider. I scored a driver’s side seat back. I was going to go for the passenger seat thinking that the frame would be better but for some reason this driver’s seat was better than the passengers. Seamed pretty sturdy and the interior matched mine. IT's not perfect but will do until I learn how to do my own upholstery. Also scored a rear license plate light housing, which I managed to break the stud while trying to get it out. I'll make sure I can polish it up before I go and try to weld/fix the stud. Also got a nut for the odometer reset knob (not sure where original ended up) and the black plastic spacer for behind the window handle. I paid $50 for the four pieces, I wanted it for less but of course I’m cheap. I managed to clean up the new seat and install, not to bad. At least now I have some extra tan material in case I need to patch something up. Still waiting on fuel pump from local auto chain and should be good to go.

Re: My pickings from local parts car
This is why I sometimes kick myself...taking the hardest path to resolving a problem... The passenger seat back!!!
Here I was scratching my head thinking about the fact that I have to fix the driver's seat back... I have a spare passenger seat back!! duh!
tks!

Re: My pickings from local parts car
I totally made that mistake about the seats as well when I was re-peicing mine together from 3 different sets. I tried to put the driver's side seat back on the passinger's side and did the -Something's not right here look for about 5 minutes before I finall figured out that they were not interchaingeable. Live and learn. I still can not get the seat belt holders to screw back into the seat backs.

Katsi - you might be a candidate for the BradyBelter. Just search the list. It's a head rest mounted shoulder belt guide.
Wachoko - There is some modification needed to use the passenger seat frame on the drivers side. I don't have a good picture of it but you will have to move one mounting point from one side of the frame to the other (the inside single lower mount). The whole is already drilled in the frame, a couple zips with a dremel to remove and tac to the other side. As for the two outer mounting points they should already be there. At least that is how it is on my cracked up 79 drivers seat frame.
