My THREE Fiats !!!!!! w/ pix

Post by ga.spyder »

Thats right,I am now in possesion of my third Spider....for a couple days anyway. What ,you think I am deranged enough to own three?(sorry Denise  ) I found a really nice 80 here in the area, and Mike Bouse has a friend who was in the market.I put him with the owner ,they hashed out a deal, and I brought the car to my house for some needed TLC.The car has new paint, tranny, brakes, front end,tires,etc...The owner had gotten too much in,money wise, and cut his losses. The car runs great.So...Mike and Doug flew to Atl.,will be here in the morning. We will do a little wrenching, and they are off on a 600 mile journey back to Michigan! Here are a few pix.The 80 is on the end w/13'' tires,my 76 in the middleon 14's,and the 82(by far the nicest one of the 3)on the end w/15'' wheels.

Thanks guys,I was hoping you would think ''that dummy got another one?'' The car is a very nice example, but has quite a few small electrical issues. In the week I have had it,I have worked thru some of them and I think the car is roadworthy for the long trip.Mike and Doug have put a lot of faith in my judgement!
Thanks for the comments on the house. It isnt a real log cabin,it is D- log sided(made to look like a log cabin w/o some of the problems). We bought it when prices were low,and because we loved the 4 acres. The plan was to upgrade to a bigger house,or build on.But,with my son at college and my daughter going there next year we have more than we need! I built the garage on 2 years ago.
I will give Mike all your birthday wishes ,and take some pix.We are giving him a 4 Fiat escort thru town square in Blairsville. :D

Need close up of the bumperless on for a look at your light setup and wonder what wheels are those on the blue one? Nice cars and place!

The wheels on my 82 are Team Dynamics Racing 15 x7.They are a 4x98 pattern. The lights on the 80(bumperless) leaves alot to be desired in my opinion. There are fog lights in the round hole. The turn signals are a piece of amber lens material, cut to fit into the rect. opening. The lens material is silicone in.Then they took small rect. marker lights and glued them to the lens.Fine and clean looking until you need to change a bulb.I have had the car a week and already had to re-glue the marker light in!I will get a pic tomorrow.

Can you give some details on those turn signals on Mike's friends new car? I am looking to go bumper-less on the free-iat and from a distance it looks like a well executed solution. I would appreciate any details you could provide. - Thanks!

Nice cars! Curious, what color is the 82? (The bluish/grey?) Going for a similar look on mine. What color is the top?

Seventil, the 82 is a Fiat color called ardesia mettalica.Looks grayish in low light but is more blue in bright sun light.
Michael, check the post above yours for details on the turn signals.I will post a couple pix this evening. It looks good, but isnt a great setup.Although, since the turn signals seem to be the stumbling block for most bumper delete cars maybe it isnt a bad solution?I am not crazy about the lights being 'glued' in.
