how do i replace the ignition switch on my 1980 fiat carb any feedback is good th :? enx

you'll need the key first. Remove the plastic column covers, disconnect the wires or harness from the back. Remove the two small phillips screws just behind the switch bezel. Turn the key to run, then push down the spring loaded button on the right side of the switch and remove the switch

then your life will become very difficult. Easiest method is then to remove the steering column and take the whole thing to your local locksmith to get a key made. Or, spend a day drilling the tumblers out of the lock :x

for those that haven't lost their keys, most stock switches have an arrow engraved on the chrome ring. turn the key to align with this arrow, and the key will be in the correct position to follow the procedure described above by Mark.

some of us old farts gotta look real close to see that arrow, but it IS there.

i took the hard one and it took me the hole day u were right mark
