Hummm :D Not going as far as chroming or polishing the engine, but I will clean and paint everything I can so that it looks better.

Parts are piling up... need to start moving some of this over to the runner...

I wonder if the sheet metal for the 80-82's is the same as 83-on... Only concern/question I have is if the vents are in the same place for both cars... anyone with a photo behind the dash of an 80-82 :?:

It does, thank you. I might have a few issues trying to use this dash with the older car... hummm... :? I might have to stick to the original plan and get a new dash....

Well, last parts removed from this car... body shell on a dolly and ready to dispose of it.

Got to clean it up really well and pain it.

Not sure if this is useful to anyone... will cut the bolts on the cat and remove the front section

Time to stash it all back in the garage, that is all for now. Might be the last post on this thread as the car will be gone before the end of the week... any sheet metal I should cut to keep as spare? If I am going to do the 83 dash I should probable cut that section to reuse... :?:

Good night, good morning, good evening... ciao!

Just read all 10 pages...great story and pics. I'm just curious how this thing had so much rust and gunk...was it underwater at one point?

I honestly do not know. :? The water in the transmission might be a clue, but nothing else pointed to being in a flood... Three owner car, first owner bought it in Italy and used it while living there and then brought it to the US. I think he mentioned that it lived in Michigan until some 15 years ago when it was moved to Florida used for a couple of years and sat for 12 years.

I know that fiats that sit out without a top like to have water enter in through the shifter and into the transmission. last Fiat I bought was about 2 quarts full of water when I drained it after driving it home :o . Just kept changing the fluid often and it cleared up...Shifted fine and not really any odd noises. Im sure thats how this must have gotten the water in there. Now how did the water get in my Shock towers that I need to replace I have no idea yet.
