Fiat Service

Post by britguy »

I would be grateful for any recemendations for Fiat mechanics in the Long Beach area. I have a 1981 Fiat Spidor which I have owned from new with 18,0000 miles . It has been garaged for most of the last ten years with very limited miles per year on the car. This year I want to get it ready so I can start to use it again on a regular basis. I need to have a very thorough service and check of the car.

If you can get it to Uplands, our moderator Mark Allison could get you sorted. Check Allison's automotive. Being 2000 miles or more north,I'm not sure of the distance between you and Uplands though.

SoCal Mark, the site's moderator, is about 35 miles away in Uplands. Not exactly "down the street", but probably the most knowledgeable guy in the area, and the one I would trust working on a car I owned for thirty years.

Im less then ten minutes from his shop and I just had a guy come over here from long beach the other day to pick up some parts. He said he got here in 35 minutes. If its not running and you have the right aaa coverage they will tow it for free.

I live in long beach and brought my car out to Mark for a smog and front-end rebuild last year. Had it towed out by AAA for free under my coverage, but driving to pick it up took about a half hour or so. Not too far.

I was happy with Mark's service and will likely bring the car back in the future should it need something (knock on wood). There is a shop in long beach that deals with Alfas (trying to remember the name... think it's on 7th st somewhere) but I haven't used them before. I'm told the place does decent Fiat service work as well.
