I just acquired an 85 X 1/9. In original condition, runs great, no leaks. The only problem is the left side power window regulator and faded paint. Other than that, it's good enough to be a daily driver. Not that I need another Fiat, but many of us seem to be involved in automotive polygamy. So what's one more?

I always wanted to take an X, strip it down, make up some lightweight carbon fibre hood, roof, engine cover, and rear trunk, add some bold on "abarth flairs" wide wheels, really work the engine and suspension.. and take it hill climbing.
From what little I have driven an X.. I think they would be great at such an event.

I've got one. It was sitting under a tarp next to a guys garage. I was there to look at a '74 BMW Bavaria he was ready to part with... I wound up towing them both away!
Now, I was already a FIAT enthusiast. But I'd only had relations with the Spiders. My X is an '82...and pretty rough. But I've developed a fondness for it, and have accepted the fact that it's here to stay.
Suppose I'll need to find the X-threads next...
Oh, someone "oogling" my car once mentioned "a guy in California" that was stuffing 2-liter spider engines into these cars and racing them. Does this ring a bell with anyone here?
