Weber DFEV carb instalation

Post by spidergirl »

Hi Guy's The instalation is going well on my weber DFEV carb But I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering for me.

First there is two selinoid valve type things on the drivers side the hook into either the intake manifold or carb.
Can I just remove them and block off where they go?
Second question can any one tell what colour the wire is that I hook up to the electronic chock?

As always your help gentlemen is greatly appreciated.

Cheers spidergirl

On my '79, it's a green wire/black stripe.

you can use any switched 12v wire, tested with a volt meter... ignition switch on the wire should provide 12v. ignition switch off, the wire should produce zero volts. the most practical and easiest wire to use would be the one that fed your old idle soleniod... which usually is the green/black wire.

the soleniods on the driver fender can be ignored. trace those units to the other end (the components they controlled). did you remove them? I like to suggest that you finish your emissions equipment removal by removing these soleniods from the car. much cleaner looking engine bay.

i'd recommend keeping the charcoal canister.

did you block off the fuel return line that was connected to your old carburetor?
