Since I don't have a nice rack to flash, here is my favorite way of fighting a ticket. I works about 80% of the time. Politly, very politly, let the officer know that you feel that he has made an error in judgement. I know this sounds stupid. But, it works. Listen without interrupting and then come back with something like. OK, I know I can't do anything about it but, I do not believe that your version is correct. He will most likely stop and start his explination over. Listen and politly decline to believe what he says again. Important - NEVER REFUSE TO SIGN the ticket. Gently take the pen when he hands it to you and start to sign if you have to and say, I will sign but I really feel that you have made a mistake. Let him stop you and start over again (I think they have to make sure you understand why your signing). NEVER get frustrated or raise your voice. Simply have a calm discussion with the officer. He will eventually see that you're no threat to society and have insurance and a clean driving record and just let you go because you're freaking annoying. Anyway,it's worked for me. But, then again, I have a tendency to be freaking annoying!
Oh yeah, when you get pulled over, take your keys out of the ignition and put them on the dash in clear view. Hand him your driver's license, registration and License without a fuss. Stay calm an clueless at to why you were pulled over.
