It is ALIVE

Post by red107 »

My wife's friends has a 78/79 fiat spider. It has been sitting since 2005. Well in my spare time I have been slowly bring this car back to life. Took me about 3 min to get is started so that was a good sign. I had to pull the transmission and replace the clutch along with the cable as well. I also serviced the transmission while I had it out. I replace the fuel sending unit. and got all the gauges working correctly. I also removed the A/C crap that was installed. The A/C had a leak and rusted the passenger floor. so the car is headed to the body shop after the mechanics are done for new paint job. I got all new brake calipers all around with new hoses and a master cylinder. They had the steel rim powered coated for 100.00 and new rubber for another 100.00. I ran out of time so they are taking it to a shop to have brakes bled. I need to fly to california for a week then to Kentucky. So when i return they I will start on pulling the interior for the body shop. They almost junked the car and now they are so excited. So when I return in april all is left is body work. Here is a pic of when I got started. I will get some more pics when i return.
