Spider parts compatibility?

I have a 1975 Spider that needs a whole new interior (carpet, door panels, middle console, dash componants, all seats and a new top). I have found a parts car that is a 1979 Spider with all the parts listed above in great shape. Would all those parts from the 79' fit on my year? Just out of curiosity are the doors and front fenders the same as well? Thanks much--

Yes they will all fit on your car w/o a problem. The top however may have a different top bow, but you can just move the whole top + frame over to your 75. The doors and fenders will match. The door handles will be different, but all in all it will all just move right over. Oh the lights in the center of the dash will probably be different.... (i don't think anyone cares). My personal favorite dash light was the "Slow Down" light.

Hey thanks for the speedy response Mathew26. I was however just looking at an online catalog and it is showing a different part # for carpet kits for both years- am i going to run into problems there?

My guess is that the carpet-kit differs because the floor pan changed due to the cat.

but most of the parts (other than that kit) will be unaffected.

you will find minor differences in several of the parts. One big change is the seats. The 79 style was wider and generally more comfortable, but much weaker. Most of the later model seats are cracked in the lower back area and twist due to those cracks. You really need to remove the cover and reinforce the seat back if you want to use those seats
