Rocker Panel Trim

Post by Nick »

I was just curious what the name is for this chrome trim piece above the rocker panel:

My Fiat doesn't have any, and I really like the way it looks. I was looking on ebay and wasn't quite sure what to call it. Anyone had to buy one of these and know where I can get one/how much they cost? Thanks!

They are called "rocker panels" !
International auto parts sells them in metal or plastic.

There is a chrome piece that also goes there. Let me take a photo of that piece to share.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my original post. I meant the chrome trim you're talking about. My car does have rocker panels haha. I edited the first post to be more clear.

It fits under the sill plate inside the door opening. There is a little difference between year models where the screw holes are located so keep that in mind when finding used parts.

Nick, is that your blue car? If so, you already have those pieces, its just been painted blue. Its actually stainless steel and not chrome. I have 2 sets of these. Send me an email if you are interested in them. matt.scarton@gmail.com

That is my blue car, I don't have the pieces though. I think my rocker panels are aftermarket or something, because they stick out a little bit. I may be interested in yours, I'm sort of confused if they are aftermarket panels then perhaps the trim pieces might not fit on. I'm also out of a job at the moment but I have an interview this Thursday, if all goes well I may just be interested in the pieces you have.

Can you post a close up photo of the area so we can see what we are dealing with?

Take a picture with the door open looking at the sill.

I'm pretty sure it just looks that way from the picture, I stripped down my entire car to bare metal before I painted it and the rocker panel was just one piece, there's nothing in between it and the door... I'll get a closer up picture that's easier to see.

I'm in buffalo and might have a set of those if you really want them, myself I see it as nothing more than a place to trap crud and cause rust. I'll look around and if still there your welcome to them.
