I'd like to see SoCal Marks workplace being i won't ever be there. So lets see where we all work. I am a General Contractor and here is a few photo's of 3 townhouses I just built. for sale unfurnished for only $179,000. FYI I am the rare breed that is considered a working contractor. I personally install the cabinets, wood and tile floor, stair cases, trim, counters, shelving, hardware, appliances and a few other items. So basically after drywall I do everything else except carpet, plumbing, electrical and heating. Hope you enjoy. Yep, thats my van. I love vans.

$179,000! Here, in LA county we're into a new residential project to the tune of close to $30,000 before the property is touched. This is for permits and fees!
Looks like you're doing nice work out there.
I'm somewhat like you, I also do all the work myself, except for the A/C and drywall. Those I can't save any money by doing myself.
I don't have many digital pictures of some of my jobs, but here's an examle of some plumbing I did on a remodel;

Everything to the right of the vent stack is new. We enclosed a patio and made three rooms, one was this new laundry to bring it in from the garage. It included plumbing for a Renai on demand HWH.
I also like a van, but mine is a box van. It can carry everything I need and materials also. But, due to what I'm doing mostly now, it stays home and I use my crewcab pickup.
Good luck with your properties, out here there is zero market for houses.

Good gosh, $30k for permits? And to think I griped over $150 for the permit to build our house, which we did ourselves, including the plumbing and electrical.

Our other business is building interior tent packages for the PGA Tour. Here is a package we built for the President's Cup in Montreal. The walls, beams, columns and bars you see are what we build to make a tent look more formal:

I was going to ask the same question about the garage; is the snow that deep or do people have short cars there?

Thats a standard 6'8 Overhead Garage door. I had to match the other pre existing garages. My Van sits on 20's with over sized tires, It doesn't even fit into my own garage. Sucks. Thats actually my Conversion van I usually drive this to work when I need to actually do work.
This is my Ford F590F Superduty 7.3 IdI. Thats a 5 Ton Truck Only 2400 ever made. Has an E4OD. Dana 80, front straight axle, 4 wheel discI love this thing except the 5.13 gears which limit me to around 60mph (for now). The cargo area is 17' long, full of shelfs and holds about 30k in tools. See the 10 lug rims, wheel clearance and ride height and 6' tall roll up door. This ain't your average P30 potatoe chip truck.Front and rear springs are 4" wide. All aluminum body.
