soft top install questions

My father-in-law purchased a 1980 Spider here (California) while visiting from the East coast and now it's in my hands until he can come get it next year. The previous owner put a new soft top on, but only half way. Does anyone have any photos of how it should look, specifically the areas around the front corners (near the latches and top front of the doors) as well as the cables (not installed). It's now starting to rain so I need to figure it out soon. I do not have any instruction sheets or any other Spiders to look at as a reference.
