Hey Mark -
If I really wanted to, I could go back in the old database and get all of the e-mail addresses. However, I think most everyone over at the other site knows that this one is back. The thing that has always amused me the most about the other site is this (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):
Since the other site's inception, the two most viewed and active topics ever on that board were about THIS site - which I must admit does cause me to chuckle a bit. Even right this moment on the other board, this site is the most active topic.
It seems to me that a lot of people look at the situation as being competitive and really, I just don't see it that way. The more the better, I think. People will go to whatever board they like the best. Take Miafiori for example, they have had the same group of loyal people for about as long as FiatSpider.com has been around. Some of them cross over occassionally, but not often. And no offense intended to those guys, but the forum format over there is horrible. And yet, it doesn't matter to that core group. And you know what? - that's fine! It suits those guys and that's all that matters. Let the chips fall where they fall.
I heartily welcome all of the older members to join in on the new FS.com forum. I would be very glad to have most of them back, in particular because there are a large number of very knowledgeable people that were regulars here, like yourself as an example.
I did what I had to do with the old site and as far as I'm concerned that's all history. With the exception of about a six month period, this site has served the Spider community for very close to nine years now. I'm glad to do it and I plan on keeping this site going for another decade (at least). Contrary to speculation on the other board, I did not re-launch it in order to continue to try and sell it. FiatSpider.com is not for sale.
My intentions are to grow it as big as I can possibly grow it. I expect that eventually this site will exceed it's prior status (3,000 registered users). We have gained 40 registered users in our first week (as of today, Sunday). This rate may fall off a little bit, but I 'm betting that by June we'll be over 500.
Wow! - I Didn't mean to get so long on a reply to a simple question, but I think you all should know how I feel on some of these issues (instead of speculation).
Cheers,
=e=

Thanks for such a great website. Well organized and user friendly.
It frustrates me to hear bad mouthing about this site on other sites with regards to past down time or recent down time. I mean it's not like were paying you for the service. Whatever the reasons were, I can only imagine it's a time consuming task to administer a web site like FiatSpider.com.
Great Job...

Thanks
Thanks for the comments folks. This web site has been online since 1997, with a few periods of downtime of varying lengths and reasons. I have completely shut down my old web business (of 12 years) and I'm working a very demanding full time job. I still host this site myself from my home.
Every site goes down for a time eventually. Even in the big leagues - and I know this first hand. Since I re-launched the site last January, we've only been offline 2 maybe 3 times and all for very brief periods. If it goes offline, like last week for example, it's because of a connection problem or in the case of last week, a crashed hard drive. To have redundant connections and equipment at the ready would be very expensive indeed, so I do the best I can with what I've got. I've never charged a fee for this site, although I have asked for donations in the past to help keep it going. I may put a donations button on it again at some point, but as always donations will be completely volantary.
The site isn't perfect, but I think it helps a lot of Spider owners out and gives everyone a place to share info, which was and is the original intent.
Thanks again for the comments and support.

Re: Thanks
I think a donations button is a great idea and maybe also
a very brief and general description of the costs associated with
this site. I for one have no idea what the monthly costs are. I say
this simply as a way of letting us know, if we donate $10 dollars,
does this really have in impact on your operation expense.
If so, I think others would be happy to give such a small amount.
