Fiat Nationals - only 2 sleeps away ( It feels like Christmas again )
We got 60 starters in the Supersprint, 30 for the Show and Shine and 45 for the Motorkhanna event, should be a fun weekend - We've had some hot days here ( 34 degrees C - 93 degrees F ) so hoping for a fine weather.

Re: Fiat Nationals in 2010 - Entry forms
Well the Aussie Fiat Nationals have been run and won for another year - and what a fabulous weekend it turned out to be .
AdrianS and his fellow compatriots from the New South Wales Fiat Club did a fantastic job of organising the event at quite short notice; but they had all contingencies covered. Even a thunderstorm at the Concours which washed out the proposed evening outdoor BBQ event was ably transferred to an indoor venue.
The grass motorkhana on Saturday soon turned into a dustbowl that made sighting the flags even harder than remembering where to go. Many WDs (Wrong Directions) were recorded from novice competitors right through to the more experienced top guns.
The motorkhana finished at about 1pm, which coincided with a series of heavy thunderstorms that everybody used to good advantage in helping clean their cars for the Concours, scheduled later that afternoon. The Nationals were held at Goulburn, a town in inland NSW that has experienced drought conditions for many years, so the rain was certainly welcomed by more than just the Concours fraternity.
Sunday dawned fine and mild, just perfect for a day's racing at Wakefield Park which is just out of town.
This magic little circuit, 2.2km or 1.4 miles in length, is built on the side of a hill and perfect for extending the innate handling and performance of our favourite marque. Everything from dedicated out and out race cars to standard street cars and motorkhana specials enjoyed their day at the races dicing with others of similar performance.
Here's AdrianS' Spider following the Coupe onto the main straight for another lap.
A great weekend of driving and socialising with fellow Fiat enthusiasts.

That looks like a geat event, with beautiful cars and a good mix of activities - not just a show 'n' shine. Thanks for the pictures!

Way cool Curly. Great pictures, I especially like the one showing you and Adrian, it's like I know the two guys racing each other all the way down there.

Good pic guys. It does look like a hoot.
With all that dust about,... guess you were a tad thirsty at the end .

Gunsmith, a fair number of Aussies are up here working at the ski hills, especially Whistler Blackcomb. You want to see them have a good time, Tues. is Australia Day. They phone in sick before the hangovers and party the day away.Gunsmith wrote:Thanks for the picks guys. It looks like a lot of fun. You Auzies seem to really know how to have a good time.
