i have just got a 79 for christmas and i am looking for some parts to get the car running again! and i have a 81 that has the parts i need! will they fit? let me know please!!!

Congratulations on a great Christmas gift! Many parts will fit but some will not - you'll have to be more specific, if you can. Post some pictures of your new ride when you get a chance - and welcome.

Tyler, as Peter said, many parts do fit. Doors,hood stuff like that. engine block is the same but exhaust manifold might be different,thought the 79 had 4-1 and 81 will have 4-2-1. Dist. is same, rad ect. I have/had a 79 as a parts car for my 80 and other than the FI electronics,I used a ton of stuff, so I would guess it would go the other way as well.

i have just parted out an '80, which is near identical to the '79..except for a few engine components (emissions). i also just acquired some '78 parts and a '68 parts car. Let me know what you need and if i don't have it and you cannot find it here... i will help you find someone that does have what you need.
