I have a couple of rear light housings. One set is from the 72 and another from a car from that vintage(pre 74) I have a cracked lens rt side on the 72 housing. The 72 are 2 piece, clear backup is separate to the red. The other set of housings are a 3 piece lens. Wondering if the 3 piece housings will work for the 72. The whole housing has to go in cause the lenses are not interchangable.Did that era have two different designs? I'd like to keep this as original as possible.
A simple solution is to replace the lens... anyone out there have a rear right lens for a 72?
Thanks
Chris

Re: rear light housing question
Denise knows this stuff all day long. In the mean time, I think there is a difference in length of the light housings. One is shorter and one extends past the side of the rear quarter a little.

Re: rear light housing question
To my untrained knowledge of specific parts such as tail lights. My 77 came with two different sets of tail lights. They look'd the same but upon closer cleaning and evaluation. They were made by two different mfg's. They look identical but they were not the same. Its way too cold here to go and check the name, sorry. Also one pair was red across the board and the other pair has orange blinkers. I don't know if that has anything to do with who mfg'd them.

Re: rear light housing question
The larger one is a 71 housing. Lenses not interchangeable.

PM sent Narfire.
71 and 72's are longer. I'm checking my stash.

You can obtain new lenses from a couple of vendors (Mr. Fiat is one) if Denise doesn't have what you need.
