Woot!! We did it!!

We have achieved Fiat-ness!!

Just got off the phone with the seller and have already booked a flight to Arizona leaving at 6am tomorrow to drive it home =)

Will post pics after - will be a 3hr flight, 13hr drive then work on Monday (if I'm not passed out, that is!).

Walnut Creek, Calif. (near San Francisco)

It'll be quite a drive, but should be fun =)

(11pm, haven't packed a bag or slept and plane leaves in 7 hours)

We're taking the 10 to the 5 which should take us straight home!

The drive seems simple enough - I should stop posting, I'm going to jinx myself!!

BTW, Elliott (the hubby) finally joined your forum here tonite, so you should be hearing less chatter from me and more useful posts from him lol.

Congratulations! Are you two going to share driving? Sounds like you're going to have your own mini "iron butt" run.

Schweet :D

There's something special about connecting with a part of one's past. Oh yeah, it's called "nostalgia"!

I kept looking in the truck's rear view mirror on the way home from my "find". Could hardly contain my excitement seeing the car on the dolly.

If I may, as a recent Nostalgic Owner, suggest that you both take a deep breath before seeing Orangina for the first time. You really must be prepared to walk away if you find any of the Fatal Flaws others have cautioned about. An airline ticket (or two) is a small price to pay vs. thousands of $$ in an ill-fated attempt to rescue an incorrigible car (or cat :? )

We're waiting to hear the results of your trip. Good Luck!

Elliott and I are in Tucson waiting on Sears to install 4 new tires.

I'm afraid it was love at first sight.. Elliott just may not get to keep it for himself.

It had been in storage for a while. it has an original mileage of about 48k and even had the two original italian tires on the back.

the body is great but it needs interor work - nothing too hard to replace.

post more later & sorry for any typo's... this is just a tiny little forum on my cell screen.

I just love getting new stuff re. spiders, and I can certainly share your excitement. Be sure to post those cell phone photos ASAP! And an adventure of driving it home, to boot...wow.

I live in Phoenix, and I've driven that HWY10 to HWY5 route many, many times on the way to my family in Humboldt Co. and Oregon. It's a long haul in the Summer with no A/C.. Good thing it's Winter.
I think I saw that car in Tuscon Craigslist... Would that be correct? Is that how you found it?

What a great story. When you get back home, send me an email. My wife and I are always looking for other folks to tour with. We live in Oakland and looking for any excuse to drive our cars. Some of the local Alfa owners host tours around the Bay Area most of the year. Lots of great drivers roads here as you probably know.
