The inlets on the glass top box is in in the front. A tube with a horn on it, pointed downward.
Re: Coupe with New Paint, Airhorns and Radiator
you might consider marketing "visible air" in cans for tuning and other purposes

Problem was, not only smoke went into the crabs, there were these pesky small bits of carbon that needed to be cleaned out afterwards.

If you have any pals in a fire dept, they might have a smoke machine they use for practice.

Denise - Still hvae some fine tuning to do, and some chasssis issues to sort out, but here is a video of me passing Csaba at about 55 mph, on the way to the dyno yesterday, with it still not tuned very well. The video stops right about when it is coming on cam. Just pulls strongly forever

We are modifying the airbox inlet system to eliminate the accordion hose and the plastic, chromed down spout, as after many runs and removing these pieces one-by-one, it was clear that this is where the HP loss was occurring. We actually got the RWHP numbers pretty close to what we had with the top of the airbox opened up by just hooking up an improvised bell directly to the air box inlet. Problem was, there was no room for a filter there, and it was gulping hot air from the radiator. New system will use a 3" aluminum, mandrel bent tube that makes one (smooth) 90 degree turn to the drivers side firewall, where it will pass through a new hole, and hook directly to the filter.
We are also trying to figure out why we have really inconsistent AFRs through the runs. So, we have to make one more dyno visit when it is fully ready to go. You'll just have to be patient for the beer - and you do have some really close competiton right now!

Enjoyed the videos but it makes it even harder to wait for those dyno results.

Hi Jeff,
Yes it has sure been a long time!
Your car on the dyno sounded wicked and that brief sprint beside Csaba holy s**t that is QUICK!
You still running the 10/43 diff ratio?
If you did not notice the firebreathing fiats web page has changed and will be a 124 coupe only web page. We need to update your ride in there?
P.S. who the hoodlum getting into your car on the dyno? Ha!
Yes it has sure been a long time!
Yup the black coupe gets driven quit a bit now and is no longer a garage queen!Do you ever drive the "Black Beauty"?
Can you imagine the sight of mine, yours and Steve Coles BC beauty all together at a show and shine? THEN the sound of our cars together on the race track! Mama mia!And I think my favorite coupe is still your BC, but mine might be bale to run with yours now!

That's me, hey, it was cold!
The Coupe now has a 4.1:1 gears, as the other pumpkin was getting a bit loose.
I am telling Jeff he needs to get 3.9:1 gears with an LSD!
bye,
Csaba

That cold, in Houston Csaba? Well it is nice to put a face in front of all that Fiat knowledge I read when you post in Mira. I don’t think I have yet read one bad or incorrect Fiat advise of yours.Rob, that's me, hey, it was cold!
Yes I second that too Jeff.. When I had the 2 litre in my coupe, even with the 10/41 diff ratio I found the engine quickly ran out of it’s peak torque band. Yes, aslo an LSD should be considered soon Jeff, but if you still have your stock pressure & friction plate that will have to go.I am telling Jeff he needs to get 3.9:1 gears with an LSD!
ciao

Re: Coupe with New Paint, Airhorns and Radiator
Rob,
Thank you for the nice comments.
It can get cold in Houston every now and then, but the dyno testing was done in north Texas, near
Dallas.
We will have to change the clutch, as the pedal effort is too high - it is an aftermarket stock
replacement unit. I've had good luck with the OEM Valeo clutches even in full-bore racecars, so the plan is
to use that.
bye,
Csaba
