Launie, I'd be glad to pop down. Anyone with a crystal ball to let us know a weekend that won't be pissing rain? The insurance goes on in May.
PS. The coupe on CL Vancouver is now down to $900

Maybe we should make plans for a run somewhere over in the Vancouver area. Up to Whistler or something like that .

Indeed it was Chucks car! Now those of us on the west coast get to finally see it! Yeah!

I guess I won't see two side by side....unless I drink enough wine. Chuck kept that car in impeccable shape. Congrats again!

I knew that Chuck was culling the herd a bit, but I didn't realize he'd sold the Volumex. It's a perfect example - enjoy!

It''s funny how things worked out.
I had contacted Chuck when I was looking at another Volumex in Germany. Although I was very familiar with importing a car from Europe...I had imported one that was a real challenge because I had to pull some strings, given it was well short of the required vintage....anyways, I really wanted his expertise on these cars.
Long story short, about a year later I ended up buying his.
Love it! He certainly did keep it in top shape. My interest now though, is in concours. Yes, I've been known to have garage queens.
So' I'll post pics as I bring her up to as close to new condition as possible.
Cheers,
Jim

If I may suggest a run from Victoria towards Nanaimo but take the lower road, Maple bay, Crofton(side trip SaltSpring... Cosmo) Chemanius, Ladysmith then out Yellow point area to Cedar and the Crow and Gate? If a long weekend then ferry and a run to Whistler? May has off season rates in Whistler and after the olympics they might want some regular guests back.
I used to live in Squamish for 10 years and the hwy can be quite dirty in the spring. Have to say though, the hwy improvments are great.
May long weekend?? If you are going to fine tune the Volumex this winter, when would you think it would be back on the road?
Launie, your car ready then?
Seattle area and or others... Anacortes ferry to Victoria?

Peter, come on out. I should have a spare 72 ready :)
Yea, kind want to drive the car. I had just put another engine in the car with a few mods and had the one day to drive it before insurance expired.
Dad and stepmom have a cottage in Chemanius,I'd love to drive those roads in the fiat. Lots of cool little pubs around, there is one in Nanaimo that is floating in the habour(Dingy Dock) great fish&chips
