When I'm riding, you gotta have a lot of barf bags available. :( I'll meet you at the bottom. :) :)

Well if I can get my clutch pedal back in and my brakes bled, I might make it. After all, it ends 2 blocks from my house.

Navigator for hire, here . . . Ron Luxmore has offered to let me navigate for him, and I can get into other cars when he gets tired of me.

Update on head gasket: there is no update. I've been too busy to look at it.

I'm planning to be there. My navigator seat is already filled, have a buddy from NorCal visiting for the holiday.

Now wait a minute, Bernie. My navigator Wayne from Houston freely accepted all the blame (since he had the drive instructions and I was driving wherever he told me), and besides I was glad to make the 2nd loop around and up Heartbreak hill, or whatever they call it! It wasn't my fault that some of the folks didn't have enough gas in their tanks for 100 miles extra of driving . . . uh oh , I think I'm digging my hole a little deeper here.

Hey - if anyone's interested - after the drive and lunch, plan to make a trip by my house and scavenge for parts. There will be a big sale going on - I'll remove and make you a deal on any part you want!

Seriously. I've got the final insurance paperwork in my grubby little hand, and expect to have the check next week. The more I can sell off the car, the more cash I will have on hand to buy a car - which I hope to do right away.

Mark - you should chime in here because you're my first stop when my car shopping starts.
If anyone's really interested, I'll be sure the engine and trans are out and crated before then.

In case I'm being too subtle - COME BUY STUFF OFF MY CAR!

That's a good idea. That way people haven't spent all their money on burgers and fries before they get to my place.

I just got back home from the 2009 Turkey Trot. It was your typical So Cal late November day, that is to say temps in the 70s. There was a pretty good turn out with several new people showing up. One of them, Adam, came in his 81 Anniversary edition that he should be facing prosecution for grand theft auto, he got such a killer deal on it. And we finally got to see Jim's (Jimincalif) car. It is a gorgeous shade of red. A real looker. Ryan (SpiderHead) showed up at the meet up in his dark grey metallic Spider to say hi to everyone, but he couldn't go on the run due to prior commitments. Putting family traditions before Fiat gatherings... I don't know. I guess it's an adequate excuse.
Here's the gang having a driver's meeting just before heading out. You can see Mark facing the camera, looking like he's thinking reaaaal hard. Notice how everyone else is listening intently to him. We don't want to miss anything the guru says!

Here we're heading up into the hills out of town.

You can see a little snow up in the hills. It did get a little chilly on the shady side of our drive, but not enough to make us put our tops up!

Image

We stopped near the top for a rest stop and everyone catch up time. You can see we were a little short of red cars today. Couple more would have rounded it out nicely. Jim's is the red one in front.

This is the third annual Turkey Trot, and it's a great way to end Thanksgiving weekend.

Congratulations on a good turnout and what appears to have been quite a scenic trip. Too bad you didn't have a certain yellow car in the mix
