If I did away with "the cryptic stuff" every member of this site would be overrun with spam and porn to the extent that you have probably never witnessed before. It's for everyone's protection that it's like that. Sorry if it's an inconvenience, but believe me, you don't want your real e-mail address visible on this board.

you are welcome for the contributions. i consider them reimbursement for services made available to me! i sell more car parts and more shifters from this forum than from any other... i believe i should help the cause in return.

I agree with Mike's sentiment. Is there really an issue with showing e-mails and Spam? My e-mail (and phone #) is out there front and center for years on other Forums (and in fact, is required for one site that I frequent), and it hasn't been an issue. I include the e-mail in my signature, so folks don't have to take the long way around to reach me.

I appreciate your concern to protect the members . . . don't get me wrong. Just questioning if it's really needed.

Note to all: if you want to allow other members to have easy access to communicate with you directly, put your e-mail addy in your signature. If you feel you need added Spam protection, then don't, and others can still contact you in a round about way.
