Rear storage panel Pics added 11/11/09
I want to remove the fake rear seat and put in the deck. A local Fiat guy has part and goes where the seat back is. It is not wood but looks like molded plastic and has the holes for the seat belt sholder strap. I have only seen wood with carpet over it in that area. Neither one of us knows what is worth does anyone know what a fair price for something like that is

Re: Rear storage panel
I think you can buy that through Vicks. I've seen it in the catalogue. I think it's a bit pricey though. You could just use some thin wood and cout an contour it to fit. Then stain it and it would look real nice. Or, just store crap under the fake seat anyways.
Re: Rear storage panel
I'd like to see a pic of what your talking about. Anyone have this pic of the rear deck?
Re: Rear storage panel
I was given the piece to experiment to see if i want it. It almost fits perfectly. It will need to have a few spots on the vinyl repaired
Here is what it looks like
Here it is in the car as a rough fit. The 2X4 is there to keep it from slipping back down
I am not sure what I am going to do with it the top right coner and the right side are sitting where they should. It is just a little off. With the roof down and the boot on it take awhile to get use to. The lines on the boot and seat match up well with this in it makes the boot look wrong. I will still have to make a deck for where the bottom of the seat goes.

That panel is from a 1983-1985 Spider. They stopped putting the seat back there for those years. There is a bottom panel (parcel shelf) with chrome strips too. I have an '83 and removed the bottom panel and put a carpeted plywood panel with 6x9 speakers where the original shelf was. I can post pictures when I get home if you are interested.

I live in Finland and bought that wind protector from Germany. Price was 134 euros + shipping 20 eur in last summer.
