Damn... I paid too much! Looked (almost) everywhere...!
Not like you got totally ripped off. At the current exchange rate the Spider point price is about $75 US plus shipping. How do the fit / work out?

well, truely... disappointing.

1) they project out, but the SEATBELTS sit as close to the headrest posts as they can slide... which is no better than the originals

2) one of them (driver side, of course!) eith broke or became separated... unsure which, will have to check later!

Why don't you guys just make them. Or do you want them in plastic?

Well, as for me, I am no McGiver and don't really know how I would even go about making a reasonable substitute. I can repair most anything mechanical but I suck at fabrication beyond the most basic tasks and I want something that doesn't look shadetree emchanic when I am done. I am not however encouraged by the previous post from the person who bought a set already. Perhaps a "re-engineer" of the ones from Spider Point will be in oreder once I get them?

BTW, while I am not a fabrication whiz, I can certainly picture a better mouse trap (MBouse, don't get excited, I said mouse).

An ideal solution would be to take a block of aluminum stock, cut two holes slightly bigger than the headrest posts and either insert some rubber grommets or cut it in half with allen set screws in either end to "re-sandwich" it around the headrest tightly (the later is really unnecessary since you can easily pull the headrests out for installation).

You leave enough stock on the outboard side to thread a hole into which a rod screws that extends out the desired length and has a loop on the end to accomodate the belt. Okay, that's what's needed, who wants to make them cheap and well?

I'm going to see what I can come up with in a day or two. I was thinking of using aluminum. Still thinking. I'll show a pic. I need these as well. Maybe I'll sell them if you like them?

Brady,if you come up with something youre happy with I will take a set.I put my sheepskin covers on yesterday and had to move the plastic clips over ...again.That makes the second set of holes in my seat back! They arent made to come off and on,and I put the covers on every winter.

Well guys and gals,
I decided to make them out of solid steel. Why purchase them more than once. Plastic breaks. I will sell them for $50.00 /set unpainted + shipping. This way you can paint them your desired color. Here's a pic. I rushed the paint job to show you. So it's a little rough. They will be ready to prime and paint. :P
Sorry, I didn't have a complete seat to show. "PM for ordering"

Brady, the design looks simple and effective to me.My only question is there any adjustment for how far the belt is held out? Some people might like it closer/farther from their neck.I think that is what Jeff and kingme were discussing in their posts.Let me know and keep me on the list for a production model!

Similar in look to the set I bought, with issues listed.

My recomendation? If you make it long (like you did), it is because you want the belt to be further out (easier to find when lookin')...

What you need is a system to hold the BELT out. The outer loop doesn't come into play.

Just my $0.02 CAD.

Ps... might be interested in a set if you get a good finished product...

Ditto to the comment about modifying the loop portion to keep the belt held outward. The OEM plastic clips do this by "trapping" the belt so it cannot slide left or right. the design you have here will only keep it held up and to the left when not in use but doesn't keep it over to the outboard side when being worn. What's needed i more of a complete loop with just enough of an opening to thread the belt into it to begin with.

As far as adjustability, not a big deal to me as long as it takes the belt out to basically the outer edge of the seat to begin with; to far out is better than to far in. My $.02

I wonder how they'll work with a roll bar(AUTOPOWER)? It they work, I'd be interested. I bought new oe plastic ones and the roll bar is right in the path and they won't work, (the extra lenght of yours looks like it might work). :D

Okay guys,
I'll see if I can make a loop at the end to hold the belt. I do on and show a pic tonight. Let me know what you think.
