Seat belt guides

Post by zachmac »

I just recovered my seats and put in new seat belts but I haven't yet put the guides back on top of the seats that the belts thread trough to help position them (the shoulder belt). Couple of questions:

1. I forgot to look when the seat covers were off; do the guide screws go through the metal? How can / should I figure out where to put them?

2. I KNOW I saw, but now I cannot find, an aftermarket bracket / guide system that clamps onto the headrest posts and has a guide sticking out. These don't screw into the seat and also, if I remember correctly, looked like they were adjustable. I would rather use them than the stock plactic screwed into the seats. Anyone know what I am talking about or where to find them? I woudl have sworn I saw them in a link on this site?

1. yes. carefully.

i did the same thing, so dunn fret. you won't be the first. fortunately, the plastic is big enough to hide a boo-boo. set your bracket in the near as you can guess position. use your awl or the tip of the screw to locate the hole in the seat frame.

2. if you do find them, please let me know.

4babycar,

Yup, that's the ones! Now I just need to decide if $&% USD plus shipping is worth it? If only they were tan? It comes down to these versus buying new tan OEM clips and punching holes in the seats. Plus, it looks like these might actually holwd the belt out a little further which, for me at least, would put it in a better position.

Has anyone our there ever bought / used these?

This is of course $75 in that rare language, "held the shift key to long".

well, if you decide to order them... let me know. i'll spring for a set and split the shipping with you. shipping's fairly steep between here and there.

and, that black plastic can be painted any shade of beige you want.

Mike,

With the US vendors wanting about $25 each for the OEM $2 piece of plastic these seem like a no brainer? I'll PM you.

If you want to make it 3 orders in the same box, I'd be glad to go in for a pair. I don't have any at all at the moment.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Not like you got totally ripped off. At the current exchange rate the Spider point price is about $75 US plus shipping. How do the fit / work out?
