Good deal on a turbo Spider. I wish I had the money.

Heck, if he wants it gone by Monday (maybe today?) then I reckon the price would be VERY negotiable! :-)

I know pix can hide a lot,but that would be a steal at that price ...if it is as advertised. Have you spoken to him yet? I would go and get it!!!

Thanks Craig, i got your email, if i do get it i'll post more pictures of it on here. The only person who really wants me to get it is my dad becuase he use to have a 72, he bought it off the show room floor. The rest of the family doesnt quite understand our taste in cars. Also today i got in my 3rd car accident with my newer car ( not my fault of coruse ) so the Fiat is looking better and better.

I called about it yesterday. The more the owner kept talking the less appealing the car became. He said it does have an intermittent "no start" issue where the fix has yet to be determined. It sounds like he's had a few engine related issues, which is a little different than the "runs great" listed in the ad. He mentioned there were some rust bubbles on the paint. The fuel and boost guages don't work. There were quite a few other things that he mentioned but I forget what they were. I'm sure they're all fixable, but the car certainly became less of a "steal" to me after the phone call. All in all I'm sure it's worth the money, but not as pretty of a picture as painted...

I can't understand why people do that. They have to fess up eventually and all it does is waste your time. We'll you know what. Call the guy back and deduct for the issues. He can't expect to get what he wanted if he didn't paint the right picture.

Thanks for the kind words, Craig. The Turbos are pretty rare and generally bring a 20% premium over standard cars in like condition. While the 0-60 and quarter mile times are not dramatically better with the turbo, the low end torque is significantly better. This makes the driving experience significantly improved as you can really power through the twisties without constantly shifting. Even with some of the issues noted, this car still seems like a steal to me. Too bad it's on the other side of the country or I would be all over it.

I agree ,John. Those issues seemed pretty minor for what he is asking for that car.If that body is as good as the pix and the motor is sound, that could easily be a 5-6 K+ car.Maybe he wants to trade for a 77 carb'd Spider.Hmmmmm
