Crazy Car Cover Size question

So I'm browsing ebay for a car cover and I see they have car covers for:
67 - 72 and 73. why they cant just say 67 - 73 is beyond me. but anyway
79 and up
81 and up

Go figure, I have a 77 My theory is that I can use any car cover I want from 1967 all the way up to 1985. Am I correct in assuming that any fiat spider car cover will fit my fiat spider? Any help will be grateful because I am buying one tonight regardless. Thanks

i am betting you are looking at form fitting covers.

rear view mirrors play heck on me when i cover my cars with those loose fitting "one-fits-all" covers.. i forget the bulge of the rear view, and occasionally brush against the mirror (oops).

form fitting covers are very specific where they put the pockets for the mirrors. check the different mirror locations on your average Spider, and you will notice several different mounting locations... doors, windows, fenders. the '67 Spider had the mirror on the driver fender. the '81+ has mirrors in the non-opening vent windows. the mid-year models used the driver door only to mount a single mirror.

i went to ebay and typed in fiat spider car covers. It only came up with about 7 to 10 of them.

go to california car covers and look at about two or three dozen styles... and know that they make one of each style to exactly fit a Spider. they will ask where the mirror is as well.
