Guys
Thanks for taking the time to shoot all the Fiats. Looks like you had a great day for it.

Incredible!!!
I like the blue Spyder with no bumpers and the custom taillghts, not sure about the actual lights. It seems so very clean though...has anything else been done to it I wonder to make it appear so clean?

Great pix. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you had quite an unusual variety of Fiats/Lancias. Wish I could have been there.

The blue spider belongs to George's (Cecat) brother, Marco. George and Marco worked on the car together to produce what you see there. I don't know very much about the car, so I hope that George will pop in here and give a little description. I agree that it is a nice clean look.

Ron, you rascal. I had Maureen convinced that I had been selected as the best driver (not the car). Ever since the Best Driver trophy showed up, she has become much better about not grabbing so hard on my right arm to get me to slow down in the mountains! I just point to the trophy and say, "Let go the arm, would ya!??" :D It was a surprise to see the award (our 1st), being that there were many, many nice Fiats, and many of them are driven quite a bit (like yours!).

The weekend was supurb. Lot's of regulars from this forum there, as you can see in all the pictures from Eladio and Mark. Rudy cooked up some great food for us. Thanks, Rudy, and also to the others that brought food.

Ron and Chrissy joined joined the tour up to the Sequoia's after the show, and I would like to give special commendations to Ron. His '82 spider did quite well, especially with the gruelling turns and steep climbs in the mountains. I believe you've got all the bugs worked out now, buddy!

I forgot to post this, LOL! My Strada won "Most Improved"
Turns out the USA to Euro bumpers did so much for the cars looks that it earned that! I will post a non-muddy shot of my strada soon!
1978 Fiat 124CS, 1980 Fiat 138 (Strada), 1979 Fiat 131 (Brava) and 1976 128 3p. There are six Pintos also.

Any additional info on the silver spider?

Mark,
I saw that you had snapped a pic of this one from another angle. I got this pic off another forum member that went to the show also. Do you have any information on the modificiations done to this one? Was that style hood ever offered on a fiat or is that a custom job, just speaking of the hinge mechanism, not the cut out for the carbs. Thanks for the pics and the recap.

Mike

Thanks Mark. That can't be a stock engine either with the center mounted carbs? Looks like the whole front end was customized. Never seen the air vents behind the wheels either. Do you know who this car belongs to? I would be interested to know what additional modifications were done to it.
Thanks,
Mike

the front end was lengthed behind the front wheel wells. It's got a 302 Ford motor, the carbs are just throttle bodies for the FI system. It belongs to Hal, he's a semi-regular at our events.

OK, I admit it, this post was from last year --- but we want to continue the tradition of our annual breakfast at Lamplighter Family Restaurant before the BFI show (Sunday, Nov 1). So, for anybody interested, follow the instructions in Georges old quote above. Remember, the clocks change from Daylight Savings Time to regular time Sunday morning at 2 AM, so take that into account. If you are one of the first ones to arrive, go ahead and stake claims to some of the larger booths. Who's planning to make it??

Not sure yet, but would it be totally tacky to show up in a Japanese car? My spider will still be tankless.

Jim,
Some garage queens get towed to the BFI show on trailers (and even some that aren't garage queens). Some people drive ordinary cars and park them on the street outside the park, so that they can tour the show. You're welcome to come to the show, the breakfast before the show, and any of the drives, whether your classic is driveable or not. I've done just that, when my spider was in pieces during some restoration times.

One of my favorite events ever, so I will miss being there. Had the coue been ready, I was actually considering driving out there with it and combine it with a visit with our son and daughter-in-law. I'll be there in spirit- so take some pics.
