HELP - FAILED CA SMOG "TEST ONLY"

Thought so too- but apparently they changed the rules and only cars prior to 75 are exempt. Another revenue source now. Just amazed though, that the car that I may drive a whopping 500 miles a year has to pass some draconian test, while a Metro bus throws out more pollutants in an hour that the Fiat would in a year. Go figure.

75 and older are exempt from smog inspections in Cal.

I have to smog my 79 Brava in a few months. You 76-78 owners don't know how lucky you are...

Thanks to all for the help and advice. A simple change out to a larger air jet and the car passed beautifully. At least that worry is over for two years!
