The Basics: Help

Post by prohaska »

I was just wondering about a few basic questions on price and mileage. What on average are the prices for fiat 124 spiders, also about how many miles do they take before they die out. I'm looking into getting one but aren't sure on how to compare values or miles. I've looked at blue book prices but haven't been able to find a thing. I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks, Mike

the price really depends on condition and year. you can find a decent runner for about a grand. or u can get a complete fixer upper for less. 3 grand should get you a car that dosent need to much work. but thats in california where they r more plentiful. and they really dont die out, if they r taken care of. find one show it to us or tell us about it and you will get some good advice on it

Your question is so vague, it's nearly impossible to give a comprhensive answer. These cars are 20-25 yrs old, they are collector cars now. Like any vintage car, they are only considered dead when someone doesn't want to invest the time and money to resurrect it. Are you looking for a project, a restored model or something in-between. Do some research on various sites where Spiders are listed for sale;
ebay. http://www.collectorcaronline.com, even this site in the For Sale section, Mirafiori.com, Fiatcenter.com. Those will give you a decent cross-section of condition and prices.
As Rey stated, you can pay any price from $100 to $15,000 depending on all of the variables.
