Can anyone recommend a good radio/cd player+ speakers?

Post by Fiat88 »

This month I hope to finally add some tunes to the little spider. After I make my door panels I want to add speakers to them instead of using the front kick panels (don't feel like drilling holes through the new ones I put in), thinking 6.5 sized ones. Looking into a radio in about the $90-$175 range.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I prefer Blaupunkt, I've had several, (not in the same car) and they far outlasted the Sonys that I had before. I bought the last two on clearance from http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uz7vSR05i3 ... Video.html. That said, in the '82 Spider I've got a packageI bought from Wal-Mart: Sony CD player, two 5 1/4" speakers, two 6x9's, remote, aux cord, (for ipod) and a free bonus hat for $90.00. So far I can't complain about it.

My best advice: get one that the iPod port is NOT of the front of the unit!

Mine is, and since I drive a convertible (duh), I have to remove and stash the iPod everytime I get out so "wanderby's" don't aquire a new iPod!

Best is the glovebox mounted version ... lock it, leave it there...
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I just finished removing my radio entirely. Now I have an amp mounted in the trunk with a remote switch in the dash and a 3/32" input jack in the glove box that I can plug into any mp3 player.

Invest your cash into the exhaust and tuning of the motor. It's much more pleasurable listinging to the motor humming along than humming along to the radio.
