As for the engine paint, did you just use the spray cans, or did you buy it by the can, and spray it with a gun?

If you used spray cans, how many did it take for the engine block? And how many coats did you use for the paint and the clear?

Did you lay a primer? (If so, what kind? I didn't see any high heat when I bought the paint and clear)

What did you clean the bare metal with before spraying? The can doesn't say anything, and I'm not sure if mineral spirits will cause a problem

Thanks

here is the paint i used

it only takes one can of paint to do the block. i did 3 coats. then a can of clear to seal it. i didnt primer it , but i could have, they have an engine primer paint too. i cleaned the parts with simple green. then rinsed and dried completely before paint.
i got the new linkage roughed in yesterday. went to pick a part and took the carb likage off a geo metro, i knew those cars had to be good for something. lol. still need to fab some brackets. when i get the brackets done, i will take them to a friend to see if he can make copies of them that are worth looking at....

Rey,
Is there a reason that you have the carburetor top covers switched? The rear cover on the front carb and vice-versa?

I like what you are showing, with putting the pressure gauge between the 2 carbs. I think I'll try doing the same on mine.

im bringing the fuel supply up through the rear. no pun intended. that way you really dont see the supply line coming in. basically im cleaning things up, less cluttered. that way all you see is motor, gonna hide what ever i can

while, its 3 months later. time to work on the car again. people have been calling the last few days and asking what im doing. i told them i was cleaning my rear end. they said ,WHAT! i had to explain that it was the automatics geared rear end for my car. it was a mess. spent 3 days trying to clean it with wire brushes and wheels. then got smart and bought a troy built 5 horsepower honda engined pressure washer. was done in under an hour. now i just need to repaint it and install tha 5 braided brake lines i got from mark. will post pics tommrow. also installed new rear single tube muffler. hope to be done in 2 weeks for local show. would also like to drive it to the dealer when i test drive the new turbo soltice.

while believe it or not. i actually found some time to work on the car again. found the eclipse hood i needed to modify my hood with. i cut the bulge out and laid it on my hood. i think it looks awesome. just need to find a good metal man to install it now. also removed the master cylinder, brake booster. clutch cable and stock pedal. i am installing a later pedal set up on the car. easier to modify later. also thinking about changing out the brake fluid resivoir. had to cut it short today so i could do a brake job on some kids 626, man, if i charged every timy time i fixed someone elses car, i could afford to finish mine. Oh well later.

hey, I've got the same problem; always fixing other peoples' cars and never having time for my projects!
