Re: 1st Car show
Winning usually involves not thinking your gonna win and going there to have fun.

Re: 1st Car show
I have won trophies in 2 local shows.I have found that a lot of people are interested in the car,but dont say anything.I talk to everyone!Kiss babies, let kids sit in the car.... :lol:I have found if you speak first, people seem to open up.Suprising how many people have owned or always wanted a Spider. Good Luck!

Re: 1st Car show
That's my philosophy also Craig, but it doesn't work for me. What do you say? I'm guessing "HEY! Get away from my car!!" is not the way to go?

Re: 1st Car show
I agree with Pope and Craig. I spend all day cleaning up my car, then I park it at the show and talk to everyone that comes up to it. I also check out all the other rides and talk to the owners. You can learn a lot, no matter what kind of cars are on display. It's nice if You've got an album of pictures showing the work you've done to it and any literature you can stick in the trunk. Many people appreciate when the trunk lid and hood are open and everything is neat, clean and tidy. The most important thing to do at a car show is to relax and enjoy yourself. Even if you don't win, you'll have met some great people and seen some beautiful cars.

Thats funny Craig, I kiss the mothers and let then sit in the car and like Ron, tell the kids to get the hell away from the car.

I am ready to put my 1976 Fiat spider in it's first car show this weekend. If anyone has any tips on how to place well that would be great, I have never attended a car show before so don't know what to expect at all.
Now you can answer the above question yourself and maybe fill in the rest of us on it. I think I see a book in the making, " How to impress judges and win at Car Shows"

Well done! The car looks great. I'm also glad to know there that Terrace has a Spider contingent...
