what to do with 72's

Kinda thinking what to do with the 72's I've recently bought. Wondering if keeping them or one stock except perhaps the exhaust pipe, and perhaps a few upgrades on the other. Is there any more value in a car in keeping stock? The green one's body is good except for a scrunched front where a tow truck used the straps to pick up and pulled the front valance up. I have the engine out of it and am in the process of a re-build.The red runs pretty good but needs the shock towers changed out and floors changed out from parts from one of my parts cars.Green is getting stripped today and into the body shop this week.
I have sourced most of the parts that are missing except a front bumper(Denise might have one available)
I have a thought about offering vintage car rentals here in the south okanagan using fiat spiders but think I should use fi cars for that. I bought these cause the price I thought was good/low enough to restore and get the money back out,but wonder if I should just stick to keeping stock.
Any one else done stock and sold or added upgraded engine ect. and seen a better price?

I freekin give up. I've been here 45 mins and still can't get the last picture to post. Every time I go back I have to sign in,then web page is expired.... Going to work and will post last picture(try) later.

Chris, Are you starting a Spider grave yard?
I am not sure that stock is really a necessary option. I think that the biggest result is in how it looks. NO rust and clean and looking great is the biggest determining factors. It all depends what you do to not make it stock. If you put a Mazda engine in it, might be a problem. I would think that it you keep Fiat Spider parts on it, no harm, even if you switch years a little. You might have some purists, but most people just want a sweet looking, well cared for car.

If it was a 1966 or 1967, then I would demand stock. To prove my point, we have all these rust bucket 82's, and nobody cares, people still buy them.

chris, you need to open two seperate pages at once to go back and forth easily, make the second page smallerr the rest is easy.those are the years to have in my opinion. 68- 73 are my favorites. i have a 70, had a 68 but gave it to my son. i think the early cars look better( cleaner). mine looks stock fom the outside, but if you get to close it will give you a big spider bite from what you cant see.

Chris, I know it is frustrating to fiddle with this computer stuff when you'd rather be wrenching, but I'll stick my neck out and offer some suggestions:

To display an image (photo), you need these two "tags" [img]and[/img]. They tell the computer that there is an image address located in between those two tags. You must not have any additional tags - just one at each end. You are welcome to click that Img button when you want to post an image, but make sure you are left with only the two tags and the address in between.

So your: [img][IMG]http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww88 ... eesome.jpg[/img] has a stray tag at the beginning. Get rid of it, and the image shows up fine, as pope shows it in the previous post.

As for opening several "windows", I bet quite a few forum users don't realize that you don't have to constantly go back and forth. When you click on any "button" or "link", just hold down your "shift" key at the same time, and the link will open a new (second, third, fourth, etc...) window. So, for example, when you click "Post Reply", it will open a new window for you to write your post. Then you can move back and forth at will, closing windows when you are finished with them, or can no longer keep track of them.

It is also generally faster, because when you click ''back", you are forcing the computer to dredge up the previous page, and in some cases you are forcing it to actually re-download that previous page. This way, you are keeping all the relevant pages "open" on your "desktop".

Clear as mud, I know :roll:

As an example, I open a separate window each time I look at an active topic, so that the list of active topics remains open on my desktop. Otherwise, if you simply used the "back" button, the llist of active topics page would actually be re-downloaded every time ! (In fact, you will want to "refresh" that active topics page from time to time, so you can see what is being added to it.)

The key to this is holding down the "shift" key when you click on a link or button.

Hard to explain this stuff, but I hope this is a help.

By the way, my vote is to keep the cars (at least one of them) stock, but unless you are aiming for concourse quality, go for generally stock appearance and modern or convenient mechanicals.
