Shit Happens!!! Ouch!!

Post by engineerted »

Four year after my total restroation, it finaly happened. I was hit by a Mini Cooper while backing out of a parking spot at the store. Hit in the driver side rear quarter. It's not too bad, but will require some hammering, sanding and painting. The lady who hit me just purchased the Mini and drove it from California to Michigan, " I was't tired" Ya, right!! All I can say is, I am glad is wasn't a truck or suv.

Damn Ted, I feel for you. Hey, at least you know who did it. Most of the horror stories we hear, the culprit is never identified.
Are you going to do the repair yourself?

I just saw you driving the car today! Did it just happen right after that? Oh my gosh. When you said Mini Cooper, I thought it was our Ray's wife who owns one at the corner of our streets. I'll have to come by and take a look. Really sorry to hear that. Guess you'll have to drive old red, white and blue around.

I got lucky the other night as some asshole turned left in front of me. If the Fiat was'nt as nimble as it is, it would have been very bad! I used all 3 lanes' and was sidewise twice...

Repair will be straight forward, I will do it myself, no need for a body shop. I did the whole car 5 years ago, and spent 8 months repairing rust/welding in new panels, so 1 week of my time to straighten out the rear quarter will be no problem. It will take me longer to find that pint of paint that i saved just for this purpose. Thanks eveyone for your kind words. Like i said "Shit Happens"
