Re: new vendor
Hi Pope the install problem is still there, the lighting problem was with the old gauges because of the black back ground verse the white back ground of the new gauges

Re: new vendor
Can you explain what installation issues you are experiencing? Does it not fit correctly? Are the connections the correct type? By posting additional information, the more experienced folks here can help you. In addition, the forum members will be all the more enlightened, if there are quality problems with brand new parts.

Re: new vendor
Hi Europa the installation problems I'am having is the alternator stayed on with the new tach gauge had to take out the old light with the black and blue wire with the light socket and install in new tach solved problem one, problem two moisture behind glass in oil, water gauge oil gauge do'nt know because not installed arrived with broken glass vendor shipped out new glass, problem three can't get speedo cable to work for too short. Now the product is not the greatest for the wiring for hook up is thinner than old gauges and will heat up after a long run chrome ring very thin as to when I took off to remove broken glass in fuel gauge it just bent like nothing .
Re: new vendor
Sorry but it sounds like you need to take the car to someone with more experience. You need to get a meter to check voltage at the connectors to correct any issues. As for the moisture issues sorry it's just a fact of life with fiats this is going to happen with new or old gauges. Everything is thinner now than when built 30plus years ago even on a fiat. I think you need to adjust your expectations as they seem to be just a little unrealistic for your problem.

Re: new vendor
Hey Brad131a4 I do not need to lower my expectations nor take it to a professional for the gauges where advertised as an easy install with no modifications , also I understand the quality of material now and 30 years ago .
Re: new vendor
trashing a vendor, or anyone else for that matter, without giving him/her the opportunity to first "fix" the situation is not a mature, adult thing to do.
if we allow that here, the next thing will be flaming each other...and i want no part of that.

Re: new vendor
Mbouse give me a break I didn't trash the guy . At least his response was understandable other than the previous postings. Having seen first hand some of Performance Fiats parts the OP was way out of line in the first place. I'm glad he doesn't need to take it to a shop or that he has reasonable expectations. I'm just tired of people wanting to start blaming vendors before having tried working out a solution. I do understand some vendors have brought some of the negative posts onto themselves. I was looking at trying to figure out what was the problem and how to help but got tired of the blame game. Sometimes you just have to man or woman up and deal with the problem. Plain and simple as that.
Re: new vendor
We need our vendors and they need us. Since Performance is new, there may be some bugs to be worked out. Im dealing with Val now on some cam covers that are a new product. Sure, there are some problems, but Val is going to do what it takes to make me happy, and being new in the business, Im working with him too. Since he is obviously interested in my concerns, I may return the covers and purchace something else, as I want to see this venture suceed. If necessary, I would speak up in a second about anyone that does not provide a honest deal... not the case here...

I think you may want to read the post by MBouse again. I don't think he was attacking you, I think his comment was directed at the OP who was trashing the vendor. My Interpretation...
Re: new vendor
i am not pointing my finger at anyone. i am stating that i will not (as if i have any authority) condone thru silence bashing and trashing others at this site. i've been a member of sites like that, and they generally break down after a few loose lips have been allowed to say just about anything they think they have the "right" to do. no one here has the RIGHT to ruin the reputation of anyone else. believe it or not... this is not a free speech forum, if you don't believe me, just ask our moderator and the site owner.
i won't be tolerant of vendor bashing at the drop of a hat. you (no one specific) gotta beef with a vendor? take it up with him first, second and third. after he repeatedly fails to bring satisfaction to your desk....then alert us to the failures. this forum should be the place of last resort, not the first.
val is not my good friend, though i know that he runs a legitimate Fiat parts business. he cannot attain that status w/out having put his customers first. it's not something he bought; it is something he earned. will public apologies be offered as fast as unearned critizism?

Re: new vendor
I don't know Val personally but a little while back I bought one of the ceramic heater valves he was selling. I had a bear of a time replacing it. First, it is what it is and replacing that valve is a task anyway. Second, it didn't fit quite the same and I had to make a few "adjustments". See here: http://www.bassler.us/spider/?fn=5
BUT, I am thoroughly pleased with the product and WILL buy from him again!

Hi mbouse I e-mailed Val from performance fiat and he is willing to make some ajustments for me as to speedo cable being made longer so I agreed no problem and go from there . Also this forum was not my first to complain about the vendor I spoke with him numereous times back and forth but nothing realy came of it until I posted on this site.Any how Val and I should resolve this issue and people still buy from him in the future. Re: new vendor
Hi Nick,
I would like to know what you have to do to get the white guages to work with the Fiat. I was thinking of buying them. I would like to know what's involved before I consider the purchase. Can you take a pic of them installed? I would like to see what they look like also. Thanks

Re: new vendor
Hi azyoustoyou, to see the gauges in the dash go to performance fiat .com and look up the white gauges . Now to install is another thing on the tach the light that goes to the alternator has only one wire , take out the light with the two wires from the old tach and install in new gauge for the alternator, the trip cable tach that comes on the new gauge is to short just transfer the old cable to the new tach, another mod is the speedo cable it is the screw on type make sure the cable is long enough to hook up last is make sure the correct wires are pluged in too each other if not just move the wires to right location after all this they should work great . Also any questions you have feel free to contact the owner Val he is very helpful .Nick
Re: new vendor
Doug You are right Sorry Mike I miss read your posting. I'm with you on the vendor bashing part not to cool in my opinion. I don't have a problem telling someone that I've had a problem with a vendor if they ask me. I just won't throw one under the bus because I might have had a bad experience.
