I emailed and ask about the price of this 1985 spider on Craigslist and the guy (might be a women ?) emailed back and said they would take $6500 .
So I emailed back and ask for more pcitures and history as I live up here in Oregon and would like to know more before I made the long trip to look it over in person..
I ask if they minded if I sent some one to look at it for me from a Fiat Forum and so far no answer ..

The persons Name has me a little wondering ,,what do you think?

This car has 129K. miles, runs great, it has new top, new tires, original paint.

I have owned it since 1995 and at the time of purchase it had 112K miles. It has been garaged since I purchased it.

It is considered collectable and 1985 was the last year this model was built in limited number.

We know several guys up in the Bay area that I'm sure would be more than willing to take a look at it for you, to let you know if it's worth the trip down. Let me know if it gets to that point. I only see on problem here. If you get another Spider, I loose a car cover!
Sounds like we may be having you and Diane join us up at Oregon 2010. Woohoo! (Does Diane like to camp?)

I was beginning to think no one cared ,,to talk with me about this 85 Spider.. LOL as for Diane camping ,,aaaaaa she don't like bugs ,out door restrooms, bears and coyotees and big foot in the night trying to get into the tent,,nope she doesnt do the camping very well at all..
I am still waiting for pictures I requested plus a telephone call to talk about the 85 with the owner .. so we will see ,,If it goes off Craigs list then I figure it's sold ,I havent checked today to see if it is still on there ..

Are you having fun going back to work? I see the weather is around 80 in 1000 oaks and it's 104 at our home today .. {While sticking my chest out} I will say I just stayed in the house to day with the AC agoing.. LD LOL

Let me know if you would like me to take a look at this car for you. Danville/San Ramon is very near me. I can do a cursory examination of the car, take a few pictures and ask any questions you might have for the owner.

There you go, Rocky to the rescue!
Larry, we could do without the four letter words in your posts. W o r k... indeed!
We didn't see any bugs at Howard Prarie Lake. Or bears, or coyotes. There was one guy there with pretty big feet though. And the restrooms are indoors. Inside a block building. So just tell Diane it's OK.

Are you planning to buy another Fiat, LD? That's great news! I knew you couldn't keep away for long. Just make sure you're buying this one for your own enjoyment and you won't be disappointed.

I did get an answer back from the owner of this 1985 Fiat Spider and he sent me a couple more pictures ..He is asking the price of $6500 .. something has come up and I will not be able to take on this amount of money at this time due to a family member getting into a gun shot accident that has disabled him to home care until he gets well ..He is my wifes youngest brother and he has a family and they need our help at this time so I guess the car right now was not to be ..
A shot gun was standing up to a wall in a camping trailer and it started to fall and a friend of his grabbed for it and as he did the gun fired and took off 3 of the friends fingers and also hit my wifes brothers lower jaw . The doctors opperated on him for over 6 hours and now he is all wired up and has to write to talk..

Anyway will share some more pictures of the car ,,( It looks pretty good to me from what I see) for anyone who may be intersted in it ..It is a California car so rust is probably not an issue.. I never see a 1985 for sale hardly at all if any ,,so it may be some time before another one comes along ,,but family is first and I feel for them in their time of need so ,,glad to help.. LD thanks Greg for your offer to look at it for me ..

I pray for a speedy recovery for your brother-in-law. Let me know if anything changes. I will be more than happy to look at this or any other car in the area. Take care.

Gosh, sorry to hear of the accident. I hope your brother-in-law makes a full recovery. There will be another car with your name on it. Family is more important!
