Finally snapped some pics with the new wheels... enjoy!

Post by Holshot »

Well I finally got a chance to snap a few pics last night of my car after putting on the new rims and tires. I also tucked the bumpers while I was at it and I think it really makes the car look so much better. The wheels are Rota RB's 15x7 +15 offsets with Kuhmo rubber 195/50/15. The car has about 29k miles on it and is all original and still purs like a kitten :D On to the pics...

Here are some more... I don't know why the pics aren't coming out full size? I followed all the directions and the pics on Photobucket come up full size so I don't know. If anyone can help out I would appreciate it... For some reason it seems to cut the picture off by about 25% or so. I hate computers :x

Looks great. I got the same wheels but still in boxes in my garage.... I cant wait to get tires and put them on.

Did you took the spacers out or continued using them? did you use your existing lugs or got new ones from a vendor? did you modify your springs, by how much?

They really looks nice and go well with your car's color.

Thanks for the compliments... Yes, I forgot to mention as I did in another thread I replied to in regards to the fitment of these wheels. When I first installed the wheels with the stock spacer they did seem to stick out a little to much so I did eliminate the spacers and they fit perfectly in my opinion with no rubbing issues what so ever. I went 195's over the 205's for a couple reasons and I'll explain, first I really wanted the shortest sidewall possible for the look and I didn't want any "bulge" or over hang. Also since I was on the fence on how these wheels would fit with the really low offsets a wider tire would be even more of an issue if in fact they stuck out further. In the end I'm very happy with the choice of the 195's.

The lugs are just my original factory lugs polished up and as for springs I put on the International Autosports lowering springs and new Koni's a year ago or so... I'm actually contemplating cutting the springs for that more lowered look but I'm worried about doing that so for now its just going to sit the way it is until I can decide one way or the other. Hope that helps...

Real funny wise guy  it did actually work for a little bit though but after 6 years the fragrance has seemed to wear off... weird, huh?

Thanks to everyone else who have left positive comments! I really appreciate it :D

Great spider! I really like the interior. The later dash and radio console is such a better design. 8)

Very nice ride Hotshot. I've been gone for over a week, so I don't think I got a chance to welcome you to the forum, so WELCOME!
BTW, to get your pictures to post full size, you need to resize them first to about 1/2 size. If you're using Photobucket, it has a resizing tool for this.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! Even though I'm new to this forum I'm not new to Fiats'. This is my third Spider and I've owned some Alfa's as well. Growing up my dad had some 124 sedans, 131 sedans and old '63 1100 that my grandfather brought over with him and some others... This one is by far the nicest Spider I've had the pleasure of owning and absolutely my favorite by far. I took your advise and after some poking around on Photobucket I figured out the resizing and fixed it so hopefully now at least you can see the whole picture even though the quality has taken a hit. Thanks for the recommendation...

Thanks for commenting on the bumpers... after the work that I put into them its nice to see someone catch a subtle change like that. I can't believe how much better the car looks with the bumpers tucked like that. I know the reasoning behind them but that doesn't make it right, damn 5mph laws, form before function I always say  Now see I've always been on the fence as to the interior debate. I hate the air conditioner box on the passenger side and the cheap plastic feel of the '83 and up cars. I like the older dashes to be honest minus the radio portion but to each their own. I would love to pull that AC crap out but I don't know what I could do to fill the hole and make it look good.
