repair manuals

Any recommendations for a repair manual for an '81 ? The Haynes website shows a manual for '68 through '78 models , but nothing for later year Spiders. How useful would the Haynes manual be for an '81 ? Your suggestions are appreciated.

Most owners would recommend that you get more than one manual. They all have their strong and weak points, so with at least a couple you should find the best info on a particular procedure. I use Clymers and Brooklands manuals, so I don't know how good the Haynes is. You should also download Brad Artigue's Fiat Maintenance manual ( http://www.artigue.com/?page_id=30 ) it is a very good source and it includes a section on our FI system.
If you're going to do your own FI repairs you'll need some good diagnostic manuals:

i enjoy my Brooklands for its simplicity
i enjoy the reproduction Fiat Shop Manual sold by IAP for its depth

neither have high quality pictures, and reproductions of reproduced b/w pictures tend to lose a lot .. if you have a chance to thumb through a manual before you buy, look at the pictures and see if they suit you.
